Susie Wiles has been a fixture in the GOP for quite some time, dating back to her role as the campaign scheduler for Ronald Reagan during his 1980 presidential run.
Now, she’s stepping into a significant position as President-elect Trump’s chief of staff at the White House.
Although she tends to shy away from the limelight, many credit her with orchestrating what was arguably Trump’s most organized and effective campaign.
During his victory party in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump made sure to give a shout-out to Wiles for her crucial contributions.
He said, “I want to express my deep gratitude for Susie [Wiles] and Chris [LaCivita] for all your hard work. Susie, come on up! She prefers to stay in the background—she’s what we call ‘the ice baby.’ But let me tell you, she’s definitely not just in the background.”
Trump praised Wiles as “tough, smart, and innovative,” also highlighting that she will be making history as the first female chief of staff in U.S. history: “I’m confident she’ll make our country proud.”
Veteran GOP strategist John Brabender even told Fox News Digital that there couldn’t be a better pick than Susie Wiles for this role.
He emphasized that no one will have a better rapport with the president than her; she truly understands her mission is to assist him however possible—and he’ll appreciate that.
Brabender pointed out that Susie’s only agenda is helping the president help others and mentioned how everyone working under her in the White House will be thoroughly vetted by her standards—ensuring only top-notch talent joins the team.
A seasoned Republican strategist based in Florida who led Trump’s campaigns there in both 2016 and 2020, Wiles’ political journey began long ago with Reagan’s campaign scheduling.
She also managed Rick Scott’s successful 2010 bid for governor of Florida and briefly oversaw former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman’s presidential run in 2012.
Currently, she’s serving as a senior advisor to Trump while co-chairing his campaign alongside Chris LaCivita.
Interestingly enough, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was mentioned as a potential candidate for chief of staff but recently stated on The Guy Benson Show that he wouldn’t accept if offered.
