Mary Blasetti, a 32-year-old mother of a 2-month-old girl, tragically passed away from her injuries on Monday, November 11, as confirmed by the police.
This heartbreaking incident took place in Maryland just two days earlier when she was involved in an accident with a golf cart.
On Saturday, November 9, around 7:24 p.m., officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to a call about an injured person on Maid Marion Hill in Annapolis.
According to their preliminary investigation, Mary sustained severe injuries after being thrown from an E-Z-GO golf cart.
She was quickly airlifted to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center but sadly succumbed to her injuries on Monday.
The police identified Mary as a passenger in the golf cart but did not disclose the name of the driver, who is also a 32-year-old woman from Crownsville.
Officer Justin Mulcahy described how it seemed that they hit a dip in the road which caused Mary to be ejected from the vehicle.
He expressed his condolences for everyone affected by this tragic event and mentioned that they would work closely with the State’s Attorney’s Office to get to the bottom of what happened.
In light of this tragedy, friends and family have set up a GoFundMe page stating that Mary was involved in a tragic accident.
The page highlights that she leaves behind her husband Nick and their baby daughter Mary Katharine Blasetti.
It notes how much joy she brought into people’s lives and how deeply her loss will be felt by all who knew her.
The GoFundMe also mentions that Nick and Mary Katharine will face many challenges over the coming months, so they hope to ease some of their burdens financially during this tough time.
As of Thursday, November 14, Olivia McKenna’s campaign has raised over $276,000 in support for them. Thank you to everyone who has shown their love and support during such a difficult period!
