On Sunday, McDonald’s announced that beef patties are not responsible for the E. coli outbreak associated with their Quarter Pounder hamburgers, which has resulted in at least one fatality and nearly 75 illnesses.
Cesar Pina, the Chief Supply Chain Officer of McDonald’s, stated that we are highly assured that all products linked to this outbreak have been eliminated from our supply chain and are no longer present in any McDonald’s locations.
According to the Colorado Department of Agriculture, tests on various subsamples from different batches of McDonald’s fresh and frozen beef patties showed no presence of E. coli. They also mentioned that their beef testing has concluded and they do not expect to receive any additional samples.
According to a statement from McDonald’s, the company plans to restart the distribution of fresh Quarter Pounder supplies, and these should be available in all locations within the next week.
